As a English/French-into-Spanish translator, I have the following skills and abilities:

Graduate in Modern Languages and Philology. Universidad Libre.  Bogotá, March 2000. Thesis: Proyecto de una ortografía de la lengua española dirigida a los periodistas (Project for a Journalists-oriented Spanish Language Spelling Handbook). Main course of study: English, French, Greek, Latin, and Literature.

Experience

Currently, I work for the Central University, in Bogotá, Colombia. Duties perfromed include: proofreading and editing of the different publications issued by the institution, such as NotiCentral (University's official newspaper), Hojas Universitarias (a literary magazine), Cuadernos del Cine-Club, Magazín Mercadológico, etc., and revision and proofreading tasks for the books published in-house. English-Spanish translations performed for some of these publications, including titles about economic and sociopolitical subject matters. I also write articles, memos, letters, and communiqués that the University sends to the media, as well as some texts intended for publishing on the University's website.

For many years I have proofread different magazines published by Editora Cinco (an important Colombian publishing house) sucha as Muy interesante, Mascotas Felices, Crecer Feliz, Popular Science Casaviva, etc. I Also have written articles for Casaviva Cuisine and Casaviva Decoración, and performed English-into-Spanish translations for Popular Science (Mexico) and Mascotas Felices (Colombia) magazines.

I also have performed English-into-Spanish translations of multimedia educational tutorials regarding different software packages. Titles translated so far include PowerPoint 2003, Visual Basic .NET, Flash MX, Publisher 2003, Outlook 2003, Dreamweaver MX 2004, and CorelDRAW Graphics Suite.
